Steve Hunter Nine Lives

In recent years Steve Hunter has concentrated more on his quartet and quintet line-ups and following the release of his enthusiastically reviewed If Blue was Orange (Big River Music) he took time off to live and play in Spain for most of 2004.

The break meant an even longer hiatus for his exciting larger ensemble, Nine Lives, and its re-emergence should be eagerly anticipated.

The material is comprised of originals that give plenty of scope to the soloists while at the same time the arrangements explore colour and texture.

A great band that deserves the loyal following it has built up.
