Steve McKenna Quartet

Steve McKenna’s outstanding talents have taken him to Europe and the USA, playing jazz festivals in Greece, and bebop in New York City.

While based in Germany for many years he performed and recorded with Bob Berg, Barbara Dennerlein, Gene Calderazzo, Ed Schuller and Carl Davis. He also taught guitar and played at many of Europe’s top jazz festivals.

After a stint in London, Steve has made a welcome return to his home base and this is his second performance at The Sound Lounge with the same band that gathered quite a fan club in the last year of the Side On Cafe.

It’s a rhythmically powerful unit that gives everyone plenty of room to stretch out and explore the material. Steve will be performing tunes from his new CD, which features a mix of re-harmonised standards and original tunes.
