Miroslav Bukovsky

Wanderlust’s musical framework is built from Brazilian, Latin and jazz elements which have fused into a group sound so easily recognised live and on recordings.

But commentary about Wanderlust has tended to overlook the contribution to the band, as both instrumentalist and composer, of its leader and guiding spirit, Miroslav Bukovsky.

Bukovsky is one of the finest trumpet players we have. As a composer he draws on the broad modern jazz tradition for inspiration in addition to which there is a strong Central European folk element to a number of his compositions.

Also of more than passing interest is the return of guitarist Jeremy Sawkins who spent the last two years in Ireland and established enough of a reputation to play all the major venues and jazz festivals there.

Since a reunion and a celebration is on the cards a wonderful night of music awaits.
