Judy Bailey’s JAZZ CONNECTION Big Band

One of the most respected pianist/composers in the modern Australian jazz scene, Judy Bailey has a rich performance history reaching back to the days of Sydney’s legendary El Rocco Jazz Cellar. A major figure in both the making of Australian jazz & in music education, Judy’s musical embrace is very wide.

Tonight, she presents her big band project for the first time at The Sound Lounge. JAZZ CONNECTION represents the new wave of emerging talent – an exciting 19-piece big band featuring young, high-energy players committed to a large and stylistically varied repertoire of Jazz / Blues / Rock / Fusion / Contemporary music.

The band has steadily built a following through performances at various venues, including Soup Plus and The Basement, as well as festivals, with a main-stage appearance at Manly Jazz Festival.

The band has recorded a successful CD – JAZZ CONNECTION – Pushing the Boundaries and tonight is a great opportunity to see some of Sydney’s rising talent deliver a big sound at your favourite live jazz venue.
