Mike Nock Trio

Celebrated pianist/composer Mike Nock has remained at the forefront of Australasian Jazz since his return from the US in 1985, and continues to attract critical acclaim and delight audiences worldwide.

Recent appearances for the MJAC 20th birthday celebrations ( Melbourne), the Jakarta Jazz Festival (Indonesia) and Stonnington Jazz 2008, have given notice that this new trio, featuring the outstanding talents of the Waples brothers, bassist Ben and drummer James, is a trio to be reckoned with.

Opening for Sonny Rollins at the Sydney Opera House on June 1st, the trio are planning on releasing a new recording later this year .

Sunday’s headline artist was brilliant pianist Mike Nock, who premiered his new trio featuring Ben Waples, with tremendous energy and open-hearted spontaneity – The Age (Melbourne) 2008.
