Sydney-based James Muller is acclaimed as one of Australia’s outstanding guitarists. SIMA is delighted to have James present both his trio and quartet projects over two nights…

James Muller’s guitar playing has been a mainstay the Australian jazz scene. Busy performing nationally with his own bands and as a member of others, including The Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra and Mark Isaacs Resurgence Band, James is equally at home with international legends such as Chad Wackerman, Bill Stewart, Vinnie Colaiuta and Matt Pendman as with locals like Mike Nock, Dale Barlow and Vince Jones. Winner of the National Jazz Awards and two Mo awards for best jazz instrumentalist and best jazz group, he has also won Aria awards for best jazz album, an APRA award and the 2004 Freedman Fellowship.

Muller’s recent album Kaboom, recorded in the USA, confirms his reputation as a tour de force in the music world: “The sort of playing that makes his live performances so extraordinary” (SMH).
