Winner of the 2006 Freedman Jazz Award, Jackson Harrison’s “thoughtful, pretty and articulate playing” (SMH) make him an exciting voice in Australian jazz.
With the successful CD Land Tides, released in 2007 on European label Hatology, Jackson Harrison, both as a composer and musician, has great ideas and the talent to expand on them, but it’s the undeniable chemistry he shares with his partners that makes his trio a sensory delight for listeners.
The Jackson Harrison Trio paints pictures of astonishing abstract art on its debut disc ‘Land Tides’, splashing fiery colors onto backgrounds that are often stark but always stunning. It takes a cohesive unit to pull off a poem like this, and the Harrison Trio keeps the portrait real while keeping the piece on the tracks. With that cohesion is a fierce sense of mission and focus – All About Jazz.

Keegan takes the [tenor trio] format in a new direction – MCA Music Forum, July 2008.
Following their national tour in August to support the release of the bands third album Tone Imagination, come and hear this original fusion of jazz with contemporary styles and celebrates the unique sound the band has been forging for the past five years.
From the Jazzgroove label: Tone Imagination is the next step in the bands evolution as they continue to develop and refine their sound that they have been forging for the past five years. The album is the culmination of 18 months composing, rehearsing, performing, touring and recording. Keegan’s music is a fusion of his varied influences most notably from the jazz and rock idioms. His melodies provide the framework upon which the rhythm and harmony, sounds and colours are constructed.
