Sydney pianist Matt McMahon has been an active collaborator on the jazz scene – performing with Vince Jones, Phil Slater, Steve Hunter, Guy Strazz, Dale Barlow and many other jazz luminaries.

The recipient of the 2005 Freedman fellowship, he has developed his role as a bandleader over the past few years.

His first album Paths and Streams has been called a landmark in local creative music (John Shand, SMH), and a sublime gem (Adrian Jackson, The Bulletin) while his beautifully recorded debut trio album, Ellipsis (2007), has also attracted wide critical acclaim.

Together for more than 10 years, SIMA welcomes back the trio for a night of original music.
