SIMA acknowledges the generous support of the Goethe-Institut in making possible the Australian tours by the Carsten Daerr Trio and Liaisons Toniques.
Come and be fired up with this outstanding young trio making waves in contemporary European jazz.
With repertoire composed and arranged by the Cologne-based pianist Laia Genc, the material includes modern lyrical piano trio sounds, impulsively grooving songs and free improvisation, with a distinct rapport between the three musicians.
Since the trio was invited to the 2003 Leipziger Nachwuchs Festival (a competition aimed at discovering outstanding new young artists) they have gone on to win many prestigious prizes, including international jazz contest Biberacher Jazzpreis, the annual Paris competition ‘Jazz á La Défense’ 2005, first place at the Torneo Internationale Della Musica (Rome) and a place at the Freiburger JazzHaus Piano Competition in 2007.
This is an Australian debut so be sure to catch these European firebrands at this exclusive Sydney event!
