This trio is one of Australia’s most original and exciting musical units.
Last year they released their fourth CD/DVD fit, hailed as ‘A massive breakthrough…enthralling music’ (John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald). Fit sees the launch of a new project that blends (or ‘fits’) texture, sound-scape, free improvisation and editing, while still delivering the strong melody and seemingly effortless interplay that are hallmarks of this longstanding collaboration.
2009 finished with a hugely successful tour in Europe by Alister. This year the band is back with music from fit, Mercury, Flux and yet to be released compositions. With one of Australia’s most original and exciting improvising pianist / composer, Alister Spence, at the helm, you can expect more of the “soothing atmospherics, flying swing, meaty grooves, free improvising and tranquil pools of lyricism all beautifully played and … always guaranteed to draw you into their captivating musical worlds” (Sydney Morning Herald).
