Considered “The Rolls Royce of Australian contemporary jazz” (Sydney Morning Herald), Ten Part Invention have been together almost 25 years.
Amongst their many achievements are three Mo Awards, four distinctive and acclaimed albums, a highly successful USA tour including the Chicago Jazz Festival and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC), China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, India and Indonesia. They have also debuted Miroslav Bukovsky’s work based on the Kenneth Slessor poem Five Bells (at the Opera House Studio and The Wangaratta Festival of Jazz) and are known for their extensive repertoire which includes works still not performed live by the late pianist, Roger Frampton.
While their recorded music brims with joyous creativity, nothing compares to seeing them live, especially in the intimate setting of the Sound Lounge.
