Craig Scott Quintet

Craig Scott led a cross-generational band, including long-time colleague Warwick Alder on trumpet, and budding stars Tim Fisher (piano) and Tim Firth (drums)…sizzling hard-bop… – John Shand, SMH

SIMA welcomes back Craig Scott, who has been one of Australia’s leading bassists for nearly 30 years. Over that time, he has been a member of many jazz groups led by such well-known jazz identities as Don Burrows, James Morrison, Judy Bailey, Roger Frampton and many others, as well as leading his own quintet Improviso and accompanying a plethora of visiting international jazz artists including Clifford Jordan, Lee Konitz, Ronnie Scott, Jim McNeely and Claire Martin. With a longstanding passion for jazz education, Craig is Chair of Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and coordinator of the Master of Music (Jazz), where he continues to influence a new generation of jazz musicians.

Craig is joined by a host of versatile established and upcoming instrumentalists including the renowned Warwick Alder, so see the band who thrilled audiences at Wangaratta last year.
