“Their musical rapport is nothing short of extraordinary...” John McBeath
The Jazz ‘Bell’ Award-winning duo, acclaimed pianist Andrea Keller and alto saxophonist Tim Wilson was conceived in 2007 from a mutual respect and love for interactive music-making. Andrea and Tim have been performing together for over 20 years in ensembles such as the Bennett’s Lane Big Band and the Paul Williamson Sextet.
Their second duo recording, Consider This, won the 2017 Jazz ‘Bell’ Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
In this concert, Tim and Andrea are joined by new collaborator, virtuoso bass guitarist and “Australian jazz heavyweight” (Rhythms Magazine) Christopher Hale, and will feature solo, duo and trio performances.

"A percussive force of epic proportions" The Brag, Sydney
One of the most diverse and creative drummers of his generation, Laurence Pike
is probably best known for his groups PVT and Triosk, as a member of Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders, Szun Waves (with UK electronic musician Luke Abbott, and Jack Wyllie of Portico Quartet), and for his work with ARIA award winner Sarah Blasko, APRA songwriter of the year D.D Dumbo, and his two duo albums with the legendary pianist Mike Nock.
Recently, Pike has been developing a singular language alone at the instrument, using the sampler to expand the physical and sonic potential of the drum kit, culminating in the forthcoming international release of his first solo album Distant Early Warning
in 2018 on UK label Leaf.
Drawing from his substantial output, this is music aiming to explore an ecstatic musical space, where conventional notions of time and the role of the drummer are placed in the bin.
