Zela Margossian Quintet performs passionate, energetic ethno-jazz influenced by traditional Armenian music.
They were a stand-out crowd favourite at the 2017 Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, and have recently returned from performing at the Beirut International Jazz Festival.
Born in Beirut, Zela went on to study piano performance in Armenia, where she developed a passion for the ethno-jazz of the lively local scene. Since moving to Sydney, Zela has been establishing herself as ‘one to watch’ as an artist and composer.
In this performance the audience will be treated to new music, including unheard material from their forthcoming debut album.
