After previous sell-out shows, Virna Sanzone returns to The Sound Lounge, bringing with her a world of diverse musical influences and an exceptional band.

Deeply soulful, yet with the ability to sail effortlessly through the most intricate jazz melodies, Virna Sanzone is renowned for her passionate delivery and remarkable improvisational approach, whether reinterpreting other people’s songs or performing her own powerful originals. She has long been regarded as one of this country’s finest singers and has lent her voice to projects featuring many of Australia’s greats.

Amongst her recent credits, Virna appeared as a guest vocalist with James Morrison at the 2011 Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and toured nationally with Paul Kelly and Paul Grabowsky in the acclaimed show Meet Me in the Middle of the Air, performing new arrangements of the music of the legendary Paul Kelly.

Under her own name, Virna has been steadily building a loyal and dedicated following, and in recent years has started to attract attention in the USA, winning over new fans from New York to Nashville.
