The last time this band played in November 2011, they farewelled long term musical collaborator
Steve Elphick on bass. Tonight, James Greening, Andrew Robson and Toby Hall are joined by local
bass supremo Brett Hirst, further exploring Greening’s jazz visions.
Toe-tapping, groove-based quartet, The World According to James features great solos, superb original compositions and arrangements and a palpable rapport that is delightful to experience live. WATJ is full of the ingenuity, wit and dash the bandleader is renowned for and to which his three high-calibre, long-term musical colleagues bring their own voice.
